Police. Source tice before the 18th August, I received a preliminary application for a permit to hold a Religious Procession in D'Aguilar Street from the Surveyor General. I endorsed on the application that I objected as it was in the heart of the European Quarter. I sent in the application with this endorsement to the Acting Registrar General. I produce the Office Copy of the original application (Office Copy read). On the 19th August at a meeting of Justices, the complainant complained to me that last year a similar affair had taken place and had caused great annoyance; he hoped it would not be allowed this year. On the 21st August, I received a report from the Patrol Inspector that the scaffolding was being erected and he produced the original application which was unsigned.
